Heart Line Meaning: What Your Palm Says About Love
Oh, child, you came for love. They all do. But the heart line is not only about love. It shows how you feel, and how you show it.
Finding the line
Hold your palm open. Look just under your fingers. The heart line is the highest line that runs across the palm. It begins on the little finger side, below the little finger. It runs toward the first finger.
Some old books read it the other way, from the first finger side. It is the same line, so do not argue about it.
Below it you will see the head line. The space between the two lines is a clue too. If the space is even and clear, your judgment is balanced and you are true to your friends. If it is very narrow, your thinking is narrow. If it is very wide, you can be careless and lazy.
Look at both hands. The hand you do not write with shows the heart you were born with. The other hand shows the heart you have now.
Where the line ends
Reaching the base of the first finger. You have high hopes in love. You are loyal, and you take care of people. But look at the edge of the hand. If the line runs all the way there, it is too long. The old books say you make the other person a hero in your mind. Then you get jealous.
Ending between the first and middle fingers. Your love is warm and balanced. You are good with people.
Stopping under the middle finger. You put your own feelings first, and you are passionate. Cheiro says such a person can think of themselves first. Hear it kindly, but hear it.
Curving upward. You show your feelings openly. People always know where they stand with you.
A fork at the end. Your feelings have a wide range, and you are good at friendships. Cheiro says a fork gives a calm and happy love when one branch goes to the first finger. The other goes between the first and middle fingers. If the fork opens too wide, your love moods change a lot.
Bending down toward the head line, under the first finger. Cheiro says you trust people and can be hurt by them, but you are very kind. Benham says your head holds your heart back. Maybe both are true.
Thin, thick, chained, high and low
Thin, with no branches. You keep your feelings inside. You may cool off quickly. Thick and shallow. You are moody, and you always want proof that you are loved.
Little chain links along the line. You feel a lot, and your feelings sway. Many branches at the starting end mean a warm person with many friends. Only one means you care for your family and a few best friends.
Branches that go up show a warm and strong love. Thin lines that hang down show a heart and a head that argue.
A high line, close to the bases of the fingers, is the happiest kind, says Cheiro. A low line, close to the head line, lets your head speak too much in matters of the heart.
An island on the line is a tired time for your feelings. A cross is doubt, or a turn in the road. A small arc above the heart line, shaped like a bow, is called the Girdle of Venus. It shows a person who feels deeply and loves beautiful things.
Your hand shape adds colour. A tall palm with long fingers is a Water hand. It is sensitive, and the moods rise and fall. A square palm with short fingers is an Earth hand, steady and practical in love. A tall palm with short fingers is a Fire hand. It is passionate, and in a hurry. A square palm with long fingers is an Air hand. It loves to talk things through. If you cannot tell which one you have, you are in between. That is common.
What people get wrong
"A straight heart line means a cold heart." The old books do not say that. They look at how much the line bends. They do not ask if it is straight. And a thin line without branches does not mean no love. It means you keep your love inside.
"A long heart line is always a big heart." Not always. Too long can bring jealousy. A big heart and a jealous heart can live in the same hand.
"Marks on the heart line mean heartbreak is coming." No. Islands and chains show tired or shaky feelings for a while. They do not promise that your love will fail.
"The heart line is only about love." It is also about how you meet people, how much you give, and how much you hold back.
"It is fixed forever." Lines can change after a hard time or a big decision. A hurt heart can heal. When it does, the line may follow. Come back in a few months and look again, in the same light.
A word from me

Listen. Many of you hold up the heart line and ask if he will come back. Or you ask if she is the one. I cannot read a person who is not sitting in front of me. I can read you. Is your line thin, with no branches? Then you keep every feeling inside, and you wonder why nobody knows you. Say one true thing out loud to someone this week. If your line is chained and wavy, you feel everything. Do not be ashamed of that. Just do not let your feelings run ahead of you.
